FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Tickets & Booking

How do I buy tickets? Tickets are available online via our booking page. We recommend booking in advance as spaces are limited — each event has a maximum capacity to keep the atmosphere intimate.

Can I pay on the door? We strongly recommend booking online in advance. Subject to availability, a small number of tickets may be available on the night, but we can’t guarantee this.

What is your refund policy? As a small independent business, we’re unable to offer refunds. However, tickets are fully transferable — if you can’t make it, you’re welcome to pass them on to someone else. Please get in touch at hello@holwellfarmevents.co.uk if you need any help with this.

Do children need a ticket? Yes, everyone attending needs a ticket, including children — with the exception of children under 2, who are free and do not need a ticket. Please check the film listing for age guidance before booking, as some films are not suitable for young children and age restrictions will be enforced at the door.

Is there a discount for groups? Please get in touch via hello@holwellfarmevents.co.uk if you’re planning to come as a large group and we’ll do our best to help.

On the Night

What should I bring? We’d recommend bringing:

  • A blanket and something warm to wear — evenings in Cornwall can be cool even in summer
  • A low-back or folding chair (tall chairs and parasols aren’t permitted as they can block the view for other guests)
  • Cash or card — both accepted at the bar
  • Sturdy footwear — the site is on a working farm with uneven ground

Is seating provided? We have a limited number of wooden benches, camping chairs and picnic blankets available on a first-come, first-served basis. To guarantee your comfort we’d recommend bringing your own blanket and a low-back or folding chair.

Is there food and drink available? Yes! We have an outdoor and bar on site serving drinks and snacks throughout the evening. Full details will be shared with ticket holders ahead of each event.

What time should I arrive? Gates open at 7pm. We recommend arriving in good time to find your spot, grab a drink and settle in before the film begins.

What are the toilet facilities? Portable toilets are available on site for all events.

Is the site accessible? The screening area is on grass and the site is on a farm, so the ground may be uneven in places. If you have any specific accessibility requirements please contact us in advance at hello@holwellfarmevents.co.uk and we’ll do everything we can to help.

Is there parking on site? Yes, free on-site parking is available for all events in a field adjacent to the venue. On arrival, please follow the directions of our parking team, who will guide you to your space. We recommend allowing a little extra time on your first visit, as our rural location means satnavs don’t always take you the right way — please use our Find Us page for full directions and the What3Words location before you set off.

What is your smoking policy? We ask that guests do not smoke or vape in the main viewing area, at the bar, or inside the barn. A designated smoking and vaping area is available in the car park field, clearly signposted on arrival. Please use the sand buckets provided for cigarette ends to help us keep the farm clean and safe. Thank you for helping us look after this special place!

Can I bring my dog? We’re sorry, dogs are not permitted at our events. We hope to review this in the future but for now we ask that your four-legged friends stay at home.

Weather & Cancellations

What happens if it rains? We’re an outdoor cinema, but we’re no strangers to a bit of Cornish weather! In the event of light rain the show goes on — we recommend bringing a waterproof and layers just in case. If the weather takes a turn, we’ll move the screening into our beautiful old stone barn, which makes for a wonderfully atmospheric alternative venue. Either way, the film will go ahead — we’re set up for whatever the Great British weather throws at us!

What if an event is cancelled? In the rare event that an event has to be cancelled — in cases of severe storms or high winds — all ticket holders will be notified by email as early as possible and offered a full refund or the option to transfer to another date.

Do you screen in all weathers? We aim to screen in almost all conditions — rain, wind, and even a bit of mud are all part of the outdoor cinema experience! The only exception is a severe storm or gale, where the safety of our guests has to come first. Any changes to an event will be communicated to ticket holders directly and posted on our social media channels.
